Habu N-24B Raw Silk Wrapped Paper in Wine

As I inch forward in my knitting journey, I find myself itching to experiment with different fibres. The whole tactile experience associated with knitting is one major reason why I persevered with this grandma of a hobby.

I discovered Habu Textiles while I was trawling The Purl Bee for new projects to cast on. I wanted to make a wrap for my mom that she could wear in the tropical heat and the Open Air Wrap looked absolutely delightful. I tried using some fingering weight merino wool from my stash but the effect just wasn’t right. After some research, I took a leap of faith and ordered the above yarn which is 100% linen with raw silk wrap from String Harvest. It’s not the exact same yarn as the pattern called for but fingers crossed that it would still work! It’s all very fancy schmancy and new to me and I still don’t know how I feel about the yarn yet. I’m slowly building my anticipation to knit with it and I shall report back on my progress! I’m intimidated but also excited.

Do you have anything on your to-do list that you can’t wait to jump on? Do share!
