As promised, here’s another interview with Sandra Meynier Kang, the designer behind French/Korean indie label, SMK. Today’s interview is all about her uber popular and fun paper bag clutch so enjoy!
#1. What inspired you to create those awesome paper bag clutches? I bought some apples from a grocery store one day and had a lightbulb moment. I thought it would be great to use the brown paper bag pattern and make it into something shiny and glossy that could be worn daily. Soon after, I made them as accessories for my FW14 shoot without any concrete plans to commercialise the design.
#2. What do you like about those SMK clutches? I love the myriad of colours and textures! It?s an easy item to wear and you could choose from a wide selection to match your outfits.
#3. What’s your favourite way of wearing them? I like to use them for night-time looks.
#4. Are you planning to make them in more colours (on top of all those that you already have)? Yes! I’m planning to introduce 3-4 new colours every season. These clutches are also limited in numbers as a bunch of older colours would not be reproduced again. I like to keep the clutches looking nice and fresh!
The latest colours for SMK’s paper bag clutch can be found at WLLWPOPUP so make sure you grab yourself one to join in the fun!
I’m in love with those adorable paper bag clutches. My favorite is the first one
