Does moving make you want to cull everything so that you don’t have to deal with things that really don’t add value to your life anymore?
Right now Mr M and I are in the middle of packing and I feel so much better after donating bags of things that I don’t need/never needed in the first place. I don’t want to be weighed down by possessions and aspire to enjoy and use everything that I own. I’m trying to purchase most things with intention and consideration, even things pertaining to the pantry so that I’m not repeating the offence of throwing my spices, herbs and other half-eaten dried goods away. As embarrassing and negative as it sounds, I can be quite wasteful at times and it is definitely a good time to stop.
Speaking of thoughtful purchases, I’ve really been rotating the pieces that I’m wearing here this winter. Each item is quite versatile, which makes mixing and matching extremely easy. Of course I’m also anxious about not having enough ‘new things’ to show on the blog but I would be absolutely irresponsible if I keep using that as an excuse to fuel my desire to shop. It’s not an easy feat to resist temptations but I’m adamant to find a middle point that I’m comfortable with. Of course having a husband who keeps tracks of our finances, diligently I might add helps!
If you’re on the same boat as me, how do you resist those shopping impulses especially when buying things are only a click away?
