Last Weekend Edit: Child’s play

Hi everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty full on with not enough rest but the silver lining was that I got to see a bunch of people I love, and one of them happened to be a dear friend from Hong Kong whom I haven’t seen in more than a year. Time always flies when one has good company and that was exactly how I felt when we bid each other goodbye. It’s inevitable that all of us lead very different lives, have very different dreams to chase after but what matters most by the end of the day is that we have each other in our hearts.

The theme yesterday was ‘playful‘. I wasn’t in the mood to venture too far so thankfully this cute playground was just a stone’s throw away from where we were. What do you normally go for first if you were at a playground? I would normally dash for the swing.

Red has made a comeback recently (see here , here and here) and seeing that Chinese New Year celebrations are still in full swing, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and dug out my red ‘teepee-shaped’ dress from French Connection for a ride. I was even more elated when I found my studded cream belt that I had totally forgotten about because studs are also big this season. I’m definitely not a trend junkie but yesterday I was wearing 2 ‘In’ items at once! And best of all none of them were purchased recently so there was a slight sense of achievement for creating new out of old.

The denim jacket was initially added for extra warmth in the morning but towards the arvo, it was used as a portable shade. Imagine a Muslim woman wearing a headscarf, that was how I looked like because I’m Asian through and through and I like my skin white! I know heels would perhaps look better with this dress but really, it’s Sunday so I cannot stress the importance of feeling comfortable!

  1. Love the photo shoot back drop. Very fun to have it on a kids playground. The belt is fierce, btw. 🙂
