Inverted Tulips

It must be the unseasonably warm weather that made me dig earth tones and natural materials lately. Since the heat was rather unbearable and there was no air-conditioning at home, I had to be a little bit more considered when putting an outfit together to make sure that my body doesn’t trap too much unnecessary heat. To do that, I just had to give in and get this beautiful Simon Miller cotton silk top. Hmm, anything to explain my impulsive shopping really *sheepish*. In all seriousness though, I know that it’s going to get a lot of love and wear in the remaining summer and I can’t wait to share some of the different ways of styling it.

Style Notes ||Mix and Match|| I don’t really have a lot of light bottoms to choose from and the linen tulip midi skirt stood out due to its lightweight quality. I really love how coherent the overall look is, although linen is a bit of a nuisance because it crinkles so easily!

||Jewellery|| I’ve been wanting to show off these beautiful inverted tulip earrings (also worn here)and what better time than in the month of Feb, where romance and flowers are the focal point of a lot of people’s thoughts? The earrings are beautifully handcrafted and definitely last a lot longer than the flowers that inspired their creation. I felt confident wearing them, and they definitely make simple shapes and silhouettes shine.

||Footwear|| My Ancient Greek Sandals have softened up considerably with continuous wear and I’m not about to give them any rest soon. They are perfect with most of the outfits that I love to wear.

Side Notes Have you guys heard about the KonMari folding method? Her tidying method (only keeping things that spark joy) is all the rage but I’ve never heard of her folding method prior to this. I’m going to experiment with it when I travel next and hopefully that means less luggage! I still struggle with taking the appropriate amount of things when travelling but I’m going to keep trying!

Ah, last but not least, Mr M and I are working at something really exciting for the blog and I cannot wait to reveal it when the work is done! This blog has been such a wonderful creative outlet for the both of us and I love it when we’re able to push ourselves a bit for a better outcome.

Stay tuned.

Happy Monday people!
