Capturing That Winter Glow

There’s just something so special about the evening sun. Everything just seems extra pretty during this time of the day and the red-orangey glow never fails to add a touch of romance in the air.

This set of photos was taken a couple of weeks ago after a friend’s birthday lunch/coffee at one of my favourite suburbs in Sydney. It was so lovely to relax with a bunch of awesome people and put aside all the obligations and worries for a little while. I truly indulge in good and healthy friendships as they play such a big role in shaping the way I am. We literally had 2 mins to shoot before rushing off to our next destination so the experience was a little stressful, especially because I would usually take a few moments to get into the posing mode.

I realised that I’ve been gravitating towards the blue-green combo in recent months (see this and this) albeit the saying ‘blue and green should not be seen without a colour in between’. Rules are meant to be broken sometimes, non? This brocade dress from tigerlily had been sitting in my wardrobe unloved for a few months so I decided to take it out for a much deserved ride. I wasn’t attracted to this dress initially but instantly changed my mind after seeing it on the store manager, It’s one of those pieces with an unassuming charm that’s too easily left unnoticed if special effort hadn’t been made to show it off. The icing on the cake was of course the cut out detail at the back which unfortunately didn’t see the daylight that day due to the chilly weather. That, I’m sure is going to change soon as the weather has been showing little peeks of spring lately.

Are you a big fan of the cut out back? How do you solve the undergarment conundrum?

Have a lovely weekend folks. Talk soon.
