I felt really good in it.

Dress Rachel Comey Heels Isa Tapia Clutch Witchery (super old) Pearlies From Mama

I’ve debated for a few months on whether I could bring myself to splurge on the above dress and each time I went back to it (hoping that it would be discounted further), there wasn’t a compelling reason for me to take any action.

Until…

I slowly ran out of time to get something pretty for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Yes I still love a good sexy tight-fitting dress that’s meant for a romantic night out but my practical mind overtook the fantasy world. I was doing my cost per wear calculations and this Rachel Comey silk dress seemed to fit the bill so I bit my lip and went ahead and purchase it.

When I put on the dress for the first time, I knew that it was going to be a keeper. The length was just right and the extra volume is an insurance against weight gain and the possibility of an enlarged belly in the future. To top it all of, the material was absolutely beautiful and lightweight and the style was suitable for dressing down for the day and dressing up for the night. I felt really good in it.

I had a bit of a pearl theme going on for that night which I toned down with my very much loved vintage denim jacket from Narnia Vintage in NYC (unfortunately not shown here). Those pearlies are my go-to for special occasions. Hopefully I’d be able to change things up a little in the future when I’m ready to invest in jewellery. I’m well aware that I can’t always have everything right now.

On another note, I’m looking forward to the weekend already! I’ll be hosting a dumpling making party at home with my girls. What are you up to?
